Senior Unit Update Week 3

Week 3 and we are all fired up as we continue moving through the Exhibition process. Also this week we start Bike Ed which looks like great fun. Thursday will be hot so remember the sun screen. Anyway on with the news....

Bike Ed

Excitingly, Bike Ed is fast approaching beginning on the 2nd November. The program runs for six consecutive Fridays and students who have returned forms will be involved in one hour and a half session each riding day.

Students and families who are bringing their bikes for these sessions will have the opportunity to leave their bikes here over that six-week period. The bikes will be stored up behind the Year 5 classrooms under a school shade and will be chained and locked together for security.

The RAA bike servicing team will be here early Friday morning next week to check and service bikes as required. They begin this process early in the morning prior to school commencing. To help this run more smoothly, we will start accepting the drop off bikes on Wednesday the 31st of October. This will give you the opportunity to drop bikes off any time from Wednesday morning through to Friday morning. Hopefully this will give you some flexibility and make it a bit easier.

If you can volunteer your time to assist in riding supervision, we would love to hear from you also. The first three weeks (2nd, 9th and 16th of November) of the program are run on school grounds. During these weeks, volunteers are more than welcome but not crucial. The following three weeks (23rd, 30th of November and the 7th of December) sees students riding out on the streets, this is where we would love to have some assistance. The session times are 9:00-10:30am, 11am-12:30pm and 1:45-2:45pm.

It is a great program and we look forward to seeing the students embrace the experience.

  • The Senior Unit is frantically putting work into their Exhibition topics for 2018. Some of the groups have compiled surveys to try to get  greater information and understandings. We would appreciate it if you could spend the time to fill out a survey or two from the list below. All you need to do is hit the link and you will be transported to the individual survey. No survey has more then 10 questions, so they take very little time to complete. Thank you.
